The water was low and dirty today as I made my way out to the shores of the Columbia River.....

the wind was blowing at an alarming rate and my fingers almost froze off.....

The light was pretty cool though!

The light on the rocks is really nice, the water, although not very inviting looking to swim in does give the photo and other worldly look.

There's no way you can complain about how this looks on the web now, is there? Maybe just a hair of a halo on those trees dead center but the rest is looking pretty dang good. IMHO as always.

I agree with evrything Mark said. Looks good to me too.

About those halos. I have run into problems like that when I go to heavy on the clarity slider in ACR. Its usually not apparent in the full rez images, but when downsized, or viewed from a distance, the halos become more obvious. I only mention that because I remember you stating that there were no halos in your recent shot from Hug Point in the original file, but they showed up in the downsized version. This may or may not be the case here, but just thought I'd toss that out.

I'll echo Mark's comments. I like the shot; it gives me sort of an empty feeling, but it definitely makes me feel. I see a halo above the ridge. If we assume you didn't blend 2 exposures then the halo was in the scene and not an artifact of your technique, I would suppose.

Really interesting shot Darren. I love the composition and the clarity here is awesome  . At first glance, the overall "muddy" colors weren't impressive. However, the more I look at it the more it grows on me and I like it a lot. We sometimes chase the "impressive" so much that we (I) walk right past the subtle, and I think the colors in this work great on that subtle level.
