Lonely Wanderer
Please excuse my lame attempt at an evocative title. Same day, a bit later than the last post - coming down the mountain rather than climbing up.

I know the sky is totally blown and pure white, but I sort of like the faraway effect that it has on Glacier Peak. You can really see that the color temperature is much warmer here - a yellower cast to everything as the sun is about to set.

Any thoughts?

I much prefer the first Marc, primarily because the texture of lighting on the central part of the photo is so good, but also because the sky is not quite so blown. Is that a tiny person on the ridge leading out of the llc?

That's my wife down there. I stay in shape by running to catch up to her after shooting. Thanks for the honesty about the sky, John.

I love this shot for the depth and perspective! What about a very pale blue-to-yellow gradient fill for the sky (blue at the top, I mean)? Don't know if you're into that much "manipulation" of an image... Just a thought...

Thanks for the suggestion, Catherine. I may give that a try.

So you weren't lonely afterall... The bottom 2/3s of the image is really sweet Marc, nice light illuminating the valley. Too bad you didn't bracket your exposures on this one. But I'm sure you will in the future!

The bottom two thirds are fantastic with the diagnal and green meadow. maybe a crop from the top a little to get rid of the sky.
