short eared owl backlit

Here is another short eared owl pic, these were my first owl pics in flight and only started photography 2 months prior.

Cameron, this is a stunning image. The composition with the inculsiion of the thistle is just great. Portrait would also work. It needs a little work in processing to lift the detail in the bird and it could be a winner!

That is a superb pose Cameron and, as Ian states, the composition is perfect.

Great work here Cameron,
did you use a hide? Which photographic gear?
Greetings,
Bertl

No hide these owls are quite human friendly. canon 450D 100-400mm lens hand held. :wavey:

Very fine stuff Cameron, especially given how soon you've accomplished this

"only started photography 2 months prior"

I've been chasing SEOs around all week at my local patch and have got nowhere! "and I only started 38 years ago"

Very nice shot! A little more processing to bring more detail into the bird would help.

Nice image, hope the SEO is gonna pounce on a mouse or something rather than the thistles?

Hello Cameron.

Well never even seen one in all the time I,ve been out in the field, and you get one just like that.

Great shot,

Would agree with the comments on trying to bring some more detail out of the owl.
