Same morning as the image I posted earlier from Red Jack Lake, but pre-dawn at Council Lake. Council is literally walking distance from Red Jack (the two lakes are connected by a channel of water) and when I was in the UP in early October the color was decidedly better at Red Jack (I scouted both upon arrival that week). But while both lakes are typically dead calm at dawn, Council provides more varied compositional possibilities, so I went there first on this morning.
I was rewarded by the sky and the mirror-like reflection. Not long after I set up on this chilly morning, I started to detect the diagonal separation in the sky. With the associated reflection, it reminded me of a giant pincer.
I really like this one. There's something more that I'd like to see done with this one, maybe open it up a little bit more, but I can't quite put my finger on it...

LOVE your images, Kerry. I always look forward to seeing them, and whenever I am in here, I tend to gravitate immediately to any post of yours I see!

Kerry, I'm responding to the two Red Jack images you posted. Both pics are winners, but the clouds in the earlier post are spectacular and a cut above, as many in that thread posted. Once again, you've inspired me to post a "theme" related pic from the same geographic region and from the same time frame. I'm also becoming a fan of the pics you post here, as Andy mentioned.
Great catch Kerry, certainly looks like the conditions paid off for you. That is a killer reflection, and some nice cloud action as well.
I'm wondering about a boost in brightness, make it pop a bit more. Just a thought.
