Tonights Sunset
Tonight I was driving in Downtown Portland and had all my camera gear with me. The clouds were grey but they had that look to them before a colorful sunset. I went right to the east side of the river and fired off a hundred shots. This is just one of them. Maybe not as spectacular as Bryan's from last night in Seattle but not bad either.

Hey, that sky is nothing to complain about. Any other day of my life, yesterday aside, I'd be smiling all the way to the bank over those clouds.

Hey, not bad indeed, Erik! It would be hard to top the drama and color in Bryan's Seattle shot; he may have the shot of the century with that one! But this is a mighty sweet sunset over Portland captured very well. Nice going to have the gear along!

Yeah - Eric it was a nice sunset and a nice capture as well. But the show was just to short-lived. Good thinking (and quite brave) to be carrying your gear. You have to be really careful - tis the season for car break-ins ya know.

I'm glad someone caught this one on camera. I was nearby and could have gotten down to the waterfront in time but did not have my camera gear with me (which seems to always be the case when we get sunsets this great). I was cursing myself for not bringing my camera with me. I really need to get myself a compact point and shoot for times like these when I don't want to lug around my SLR while doing errands but still want a camera with me just in case. I've been looking into the Canon G10 or maybe the SX110 because its a little cheaper.

Erik...congrats on this thing! That sky is awesome! I'll just offer that I'd like to see some more contrast in the buildings. If you work this a little more...it will be phenominal! :toast:
