Early October in Zion
It's apparently photo processing season, since I seem to be picking up the pace in clearing some of my backlog.

This is one of the better hanging gardens in the day hike portion of the Virgin River Narrows, just above the junction with Orderville Canyon.

More Zion images up for preview over at my site.

Nice composition!
I like the diagonal flow of the rock face, river and stones.

Wow, really a nice clean vibrant shot. Has a great visual impact for me.

Beautiful vibrant greens, nice exposure on the water too!. This one I prefer over the horizn. version on your site!.

Very nice. I prefer this over the horizontal version in your gallery.

I am sorry to report that I think you just decided in my favor on a disagreement between my wife and me about which of the two hanging garden pictures was better... Maybe I just won't tell her.

Very nice series Les,
Love the vibrant greens in this one. I was on this hike at the end of Oct with Kalin and Stan. I stayed dry the entire hike with just hip waders till I tried to get this shot. Next year I’ll be better prepared.

Ah - I see you know the location, Kurt!

It was fortunately warm enough when I went that I didn't need (or bother) to stay dry; I had quite the audience, and a couple of people with P&S cameras trying (and failing) to get out with me. The hardest part was finding somewhere stable enough to put the tripod; lots of soft and shifting sand in the stream just below this cascade, and the water is pretty deep and swift, too.

Yes Indeed Les,
This is the first time I've encountered sand that actually got into the tripod(New Feisol) luckily I was just able to take it apart and let it dry. It looks well used now lol

Looks good, Les (and familiar too! ) I really like the 'foggykolobfall' shot!

Hey Les, I've got very similar shots that I've been debating over. I like your composition and exposure on this one. It was fun being out in the flow. I was shooting with a 10-22 so I was pretty close to the wall and right in the middle of the flow.
Nice shot.

I'd love to see your shots, Kalin. I was already pretty well immersed standing on a bit of sand bar and didn't want to get any closer to the wall to take a sharper angle, since it would have put me in faster and deeper water. I wanted to, and I'd love to see the possibilities...

This was a 12-24 on a Nikon, BTW.
