Hi friends,
Two weeks ago I had a great experience. I shoot my first half-decent
bird of prey photo. With my car I mooved closer carefully trying to avoid body movements. I was lucky watching him catching a mouse and
eat it in front of me. From the open window with car window support I got a few shots of this kestrel at very low light conditions.
Canon 20D, Nikon MF 5,6/600mm, f8, 1/100, 800ISO,
C and C always welcome,
thanks for looking
Bertl
I would suggest a closer vertical crop, in order to increase the emphasis on the Kestrel, how much is a very personal thing. Otherwise, you have a very nice little shot here.
Perhaps a 'pano' crop might suit & flipped left to right, but again this is only my thought

Hi Bertl,
Congrats! Beautiful capture of a beautiful bird! I like the comp as presented! Did you take an images of it eating the mouse?

Yes Paul, but too far away and bad quality.
I drove closer to the bird in 3 steps, this was the last stop.

Berti
A very nice capture and I really know just how difficult these shots can be. I'm trying to do the same over here at the moment its a challenge just to get to within range. When you get a good one its well deserved.

Like this shot Bertl, as has been mentioned I think you have a number of cropping options all of which would work

It almost looks like a half clour half monochrome image.
Well done and keep up the patient fieldcraft.
