Monument Valley
My first whistle stop trip through Navajo country, but was fortunate enough to time it so we camped overnight on the Monument Valley tribal park.
Skies were cloudless both for sunset and sunrise  , 30 mins before sunrise produced the best results though IMO, the orange glow worked well as a background. Here are 3 images, which one works the best?.
I'll post some from the previous nights sunset at a different time.
Canon 5D, tripod..

Tried to catch the moon in the frame with this one, position of it made it hard to capture the monuments at the best angle though, does it work?.

Hey Nick i really like the first image!!! The pre sunrise glow really works well imo.

Yea its rough now that they have built to the right of the visitor center... makes it rough to get the angle right.

I think these are neat though as they are a slightly diff perspective. Great numb 1 though!!.

Nick - great shots! I like the simplicity and the bold colors. My favorite would the second, uncropped version. The third image which includes the moon is also fantastic!

Kind of reminds me of one of my images - http://www.renepirolt.com/galWestMonoLake.htm

Thanks Nate!. You are right they have built a hotel now next to the vistor's center, although you can still shoot from the left of the vistor's center, I opted for this perspective to get the monuments closer, and to have a shot of getting the moon too.

These are wonderful, Nick! I think #2 is my favorite, but not by much. Nice work!

They all work! I like 2 and 3 a lot ~ something about more space and color. Maybe it's because MV feels so wide open anyway. Then again it could be all of those westerns way back when.

#2 is my favorite, it has some room to breathe that #1 doesn't, yet is still dominant compared to #3

Nick... #2 is the best but #1 and #3 are great too. Great colors and excellent compositions...regards, Rajeev. :toast: :toast:

# 1 is the best! I have a bunch of shots that look like #3, welcome to the cloudless world of Monument valley!

Nick,

#1 and #2 work best for me, and well-timed ahead of my own (first) visit to MV next April, over from the "old country"! I'm staying at The View for a couple of nights as mentioned above - opened this week I believe. Clearly mixed opinions about this but "if you can't beat 'em ....." :toast: Cliff

Love the color graduations here, Nick. I also like the graphic elements of the mittens.

All are outstanding...MV is one of my most favorite places to visit, and these are good examples of why.
