Not the most handsome bird in the world, nor a particular great shot compared with some of the recent posting by various members. However, I quite like it, as if he/she was trying to hide the find from others . This chap was feasting on a rather smelly, rotting carcass that had floated down stream a few miles from one of the Mara crossings. The original was rather dull, flat with a red/brown cast, mainly due to the water and overcast sky so I converted to B/W. Possibly crop a bit more off the r/h side.

Thanks to the strong graphic elements this works really well in BW, Stephen.

Agree this works very well in B&W - lots of drama and great textures. Just wonder whether darkening the back of the head a little would help yuo focus in on the eyes and beak more. Agree with your idea for a little off the right.

As you might of guessed I've become a vulture convert of late so you might exopect a comment from me on this one.
They have an amazing wingspan and huge feet - this image really shows both these characteristics well.
The monochrome works well too - might have been a bit gruesome for some in colour

Brilliant image!
Great image just because the B&W.
