Floaters
Thought I would throw another out from my creek adventures. I really enjoy spending time in these areas. It seems to be a real good time to visit the local streams and creeks.

Nice composition and striking color, Brad. What kind of post processing did you do on this?

Another stunner Brad! Your photographic talent is growing by leaps and bounds. Your last two posts are among the best intimate landscapes I've seen. Fantastic work! :toast:

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

Bill, as for the post processing there is a slight difference from my normal, (levels/curves, selective color adjust, sharpen). I have previously posted an image or two with an Orton Effect applied. I like looks of this effect but "only" on certain images. It seems to help in overall deeper tones that I like but then takes away from the natural look of most images which I don't like. (Of course this all depends on how heavily it is applied I realize).
What I have done with this image is to first do the basic adjustments including sharpening to the final size desired. Then following the basic Orton effect steps as described by Darwin Wiggett which can be read here http://www.naturephotographers.net/articles0106/dw0106-1.html (for anyone who would like to check it out), applied a Gaussian blur of only a 6.0 pixel radius, turn the screen layer off and adjust the opacity of the multiplied Gaussian layer to 50%. My final desire is to end up with an image that has darker tones and saturation but with very little Orton effect noticeable. This seems to work with images such as this and like I've said doesn't work with anything.
Since I also enjoy the digital darkroom time of my photography I seem to do a lot of playing and experimenting.
Thanks, take care.

The reflective Blue tones bring out the other colors for me. It's a very pleasing image to look at!

Awesome shot, Brad! The comp is superb and I love the varying colors, shapes and textures of the leaves.

Man this is the best in the series. Keep them coming Brad! The way you brought in the blue sky reflection is fantastic.

Really nice capture of newly-fallen leaves Brad. Your variant on the Orton Effect adds a neat feel to this. My two cents worth on the blue is that it is a little over the top.. that you just don't see a blue that saturated out in the field.
