Barn Owl in flight + repost

Another one taken at local dunes where the owl often appears during the day. This one was taken just after the sun had set when there wasn't much light left

Hi Stephen,

Lovely shot of this female. You have some lovely subtle pinks in the sky and a sense of the landscape at the bottom. I think the Owl could take a bit more sharpening though, as posted looks a little soft.

Other than that a lovely shot of a beautiful bird.

I had tried not to over sharpen as was struggling to keep the noise down with using the high ISO
Is this any better?

Great shot! I like the pink background and the sharpening has really made it pop!

Great shot here Stephen and I like the soft pink sky. The sharper owl in the re-post looks much improved but does seem to have added to the noise - may be worth making a selection of the owl and sharpening that alone as I'm presuming you've sharpened the whole image?

Thanks, yes I just gave the compressed file a quick blast of USM to see if it made a difference. Will try sharpening just the owl and see if it helps

Very nice flight shot. I really like the pink sky.

The repost is a lot better good lighting and the pink sky really gives it some atmosphere.
