Fighting for Survival
This is definitely off theme. I went out to change the water in the cat’s water bucket late in the fall and discovered the bucket was filled with drowning Asian Ladybugs. I watched them fight for survival for a while a then decided to take a few pictures. The green tint is from some algae growing in the bucket.

Phil, I really like the 'otherworldly' perspective you've created here, as the subjects don't seem to have a context for being. The colors seem like they could benefit from a saturation boost. I really like the composition, but I'm bummed out about the conditions you described for these lovely creatures. Very compelling image and well captured.

Great shot. I like the inverted bug.

The green-tinted water and how the insects seem to be suspended in nothingness makes this really compelling.

Phil, I would have thought these were hanging out on a glass pane somewhere.......minus the upside down one. A neat find !

Great capture on this one! I'm like Mitch - I thought they must have been on a really clean (not mine) window pane.

Phil, this is a unique(in a good way) pic. The suspension without a context is very cool. I like how there is very little in the way of a wake or ripple to indicate their surroundings or struggle. Nice!
