Grey Squirrel on Hawthorn, by the canal, Crossflatts, West Yorkshire November 2008

I love watching and photographing squirrels going about their lives. Red or Grey I'm not fussy.

Techs
20D 400mm F5.6 x2 teleconv, F13 1/500th ISO1600. Almost full frame. Cropped in Lightroom. Sharpened/ denoised and resized in Photoshop CS4.

Anyway opinions please.

Particularly do you find the twigs near the head annoying, also is this too tight in the frame?

Hi John,

A bit tight on the left (tail) but everything else is fine for me. Lovely punchy image with good colours.

Thanks for sharing

Regards

Yes, the background is busy but somehow it works. I would however, consider cloning out the three, 2 + 1, “floating” berries, either side of the leg, together with the small twig.

Re the size, perhaps it is a tad tight particularly behind the tail, but overall its fine for web posting, but not for commercial use, for that you need just a bit more space around it.

A cracking shot, superb detail, composition etc..

I like this one. Nice colourful picture, but I agree with Rob about the tightness on the left.

Nice shot John - tight on the left as has been said but the busy b/g actually works in the context of the shot.
