Kaleidoscopic boredom
OK, so the first big storm is dumping on us today, and the kids are home from school. What to do? Ah ha! Play with their toys! I've had this idea for awhile, and tested it a few weeks ago, but today I went wild.

Basically, I sat my camera on its back with a macro lens, placed the kaleidscope directly on the lens, and then hooked up the flash via an extension cord. If I put the flash directly on the kaleidoscope, then the image blew out. Raising the flash up and off to the side produced the best results. [If you'd like to see a few more of these, then that means you're as bored as me! ;) ]

Pentax K20D, Sigma 28-80 macro, f/16, ASA 100, 1/90"

Enjoy,

Tim!

Tim, I'm replying at work so I must be bored! Don't tell the boss. Was the camera set on Auto, what about the lens? I figured that there would be more tiles? out of focus. Cool. Put it in the art forum.
