...SQUIRREL!?!?!? from the other day, not really for critique as its less than half full frame (the squirrel was leaving the frame in the full shot)

Good capture though.

Nice and sharp and good timing.

Another small mamal not for critique - like my post above.

Jack

Don't see why you wouldn't want any critique as I think its a great shot with great focussing

You got "critique" anyway !
That's if "great shot" is critique !?
Most of my stuff is half frame too.
Good stuff.

At 4000th sec it seems you set out to get this shot and I think you have done really well to capture it.
Half the frame will still make a very decent magazine image. I have had covers done from less than half the frame and they still look good.

Cool shot Jack. I'd be well happy with this. In fact, I might dust off my lens and go squirrel hunting...... inspiring! :toast:

The head and eye look sharp at this size so it is still a fine shot and a very nice captured moment.

Hi Jack,
This is an excellent shot and I would echo everything that Tony has said. There are circumstances where a crop is of no use, but this isn't so small that quality has been all that affected and anyway half a frame could be 5 megapixels couldn't it? Not so long ago it required a posh camera to get that. I wonder how many photos are ever printed larger than this. The average mag has one on the front cover and maybe a couple inside the rest are not much better than thumbnails anyway.
Great timing and the focus looks pretty good to me, although I think his feet are a little sharper than his eye. I can see the hairs on its front leg, so quality can't be that bad.
I like it a lot,
:toast: Eric
