Banff sunrise
Hello,
I've been meaning to get up a shot so apologies that my first contribution isn't strictly Pacific Northwest! I was up in Canada a month ago for work and managed an extra day in Banff National Park, Alberta. This was taken at dawn. Not as great a morning as seen in Marc Adamus' stunning Banff shot "The Beginning" but a great morning nonetheless! Still working on my Photoshop skills - here I've boosted saturation a little, sharpened and even though I used an ND grad, I layered in a photoshop ND Grad filter to balance out the sky. Comments and critique very welcome!

Andy - Hi.
I've not seen Adamus work, but this makes me feel like I'm sitting in my kayak paddling downstream. It's a beautiful image, imho.
The only thing I'm thinking of picking on is the lower right corner could use a big log or rock. I think it's awesome and I know I'd love to have taken this shot.

thanks for the comment Nancy. I think it would have been nice to have a beaver or a duck in the foreground! There was a pool with beavers in just 100 yards from there but alas none in the stream!

Andy,

I think a vertical comp by cropping out the left side strengthens the image. I do like the mood of it - the beauty of nature really is something, isn't it?
