short eared owl

Here is another short eared owl from back in August. It was a damp drizzly day the usual scottish summer. I like the eyes in this one!

Av( Aperture Value ) 8.0
ISO Speed 400

canon 450D 100-400mm lens.

A little tight in the frame and somewhat dark but i would have loved to take this shot!

I agree with Jeroen. A strange crop, it could do with more space to the left and a smidge on the right.

Indeed, very nice eyes! I'm not a fan of squares and I too would go for more canvas in front and behind the bird .. but it's better than anything of this species that I have ever taken!
