I can see where your going with this one. I think it needs a little more colour saturation, perhaps just a tweak of the levels.
I would be tempted to go back again and try some different angles and different light. I think it is a good basis to move the image forward.
Good luck

The comp works very well here. I think it's a bit dark and could use some saturation. Other than that It's an amazing shot. Please go back because I'm really interested in your second shot.

Great idea Ian and like someone suggested might be worh repeating with variations.
easier said than done but it would look really interesting with a flock of Gulls just above that breaking wave IMO.

really like this certainly conveys the right mood, black and white might be nice for this
I have worked on the levels and this shot has 3 birds in it for the major!
Tried to get some bird shots but the best place would have been dangerous due to the waves, wonderful to see the way the birds pick food from such a rough sea
I guess for me now, it would just be a case of bringing the foreground up just a bit to catch the eye, then your definitely onto something IMHO !
Well done!

The first post did nothing for me, but the second is a beauty. I would do something about the horizon though (about 1 degree cw), the lighthouse looks like the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Wow, the second shot really jumps out at you and I like the perspective showing the wave the same height as the lighthouse. Agree about the rotation though

Ok last attempt, sorry for having yet another go but I would like to get this right.
The second one is my favourite of the three.
The first one illustrates the stormy conditions quite well.
The third one is spoilt by the very over-exposed water IMO.

Leveled the horizons and played with brightness and contrast for dramatic effect
I have the full sequence of the wave breack which for several frames blocked the lighthouse out
All the best
