Over the past few weeks I have been traveling to different parts of the country photographing Starling flocks but I haven't quite managed to get the pictures I am after. I was down south today and again no starling shots but did get the chance to photograph this lovely Male stonechat in nice winter sunshine.

Canon 1Ds MK11, 500mm lens, 1.4x, F5.6, ISO 200

A nicely lit and well composed shot. A cracking BG and a good perch. Fantastic little birds these!!

Hi Danny,

Sorry to say, but I think you've taken too much out of the shadow detail in the bird here. it looks a little unreal. Sorry, may be wrong as always, but just my opinion.

I agree with David, if he means it could do with a little contrast.
