Great shot. Bit of an unusual perch but very nice.

Really pops out from the background and nice to see one away from the usual clutter they like to perch in! There are 50-60 birds where I have been taking the pictures I have posted this week, but it has been unusual to see them perch away from the reeds like this.

As said a not the norm perch, but not wrong, a very nice image indeed, the head turn is just right.

Great shot Matt - not seen one at all this year :wavey:

Looking at the larger image it's a pity the perch runs OoF so quickly top left corner - but can't be helped I know

Hi Matt,

This is very nice indeed. I like the way the whole of the bird including tail are all parallel to the perch and all in sharp focus.

Nice one Matt, lovely and sharp. These are making regular appearances at the feeding station on the local reserve now
