Full Moon over Beaver Lake
One of the problems I have in getting full moon shots this time of year is a lack of time to get to good locations. So I took this shot a couple of miles from home near Horseshoe Bend Thursday afternoon. Thanks for having a look and any suggestions...

Bill, this looks very good in my opinion. Good detail in that massive moon. I especially like the thin layers of clouds breaking up the sky and the geese winging across the water's surface is an added bonus.

Don't know if reducing noise in the water would have a softening/smoothing effect here or not but I'd probably play around with it were this mine. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend!

Thanks Wayne. I thought the water looked a little noisy too, and tried some noise ninja. But the image was exposed correctly at iso 100, so reflections from trees AND sky, blur due to DOF, and relatively slow shutter with a light chop on the water must be causing it to look "noisy"... there's no noticable noise in the sky.

Yeah, I could tell there was no noise in the sky and wondered if the effect was due to the exact things you mentioned. An additional thought, the narrow vivid blue band of water is a nice element. Really separates the fg from the upper two-thirds of the image. Good stuff!

Bill, the moon is really nice, and the birds just above the water add a nice touch.

Very nice. The birds make the shot as they add that something extra. Good job!

Bill: Great capture. The geese and moon are great supporting elements. Nice of the geese to cooperate. >=))>

The whole scene works for me, the geese and easily seen moon work well with the water and remaining hillside color

The geese in this image really add a nice touch Bill! All of it works well together.

I wonder if those were the same geese that flew directly over my head not more than 15 or 20 feet off the ground as I was shooting after sunset at Hickory Creek that same evening. I heard them honking as they approached long before I saw them, and I could hear the whoosh of their wings as they passed overhead. A beautiful moment.

I love how you were able to capture the geese in flight, and the full moon is a nice backdrop for that.
