Osprey & Belted Kingfisher
Not your usual shot this one. I was at Green Cay Wetlands and the sun had just gone behind the tree line. I was sat watching this Osprey for about 10 minutes hoping he would swoop out of the old dead tree and catch a fish. After a few minutes I noticed something drop in to the water...it was this Kingfisher who had been sitting on another branch of the tree the whole time! He flew back up to the tree and landed on the branch below the Opsrey, perfect! On the large size you can see a lovely goldon outline on the right of both birds where they are still in the red glow of the sun.

I just thought it was funny how the two hunters sat ignoring each other and facing the oppsoite direction from one another, and it made for a fun shot

brilliant shot, the colours, shapes, and whole idea are great, might prefer a little more room around it if you have an image with more space

Thanks Jack, this was a small crop just to let the two birds be more visible at low res :)

Like this alot as it shows a mutual harmony of two species that predate on fish.

Great timing :toast: :toast:

Very bold shot Richard and one which I actually quite like. I enjoy the soft subtle colours of the sky coupled with that hint of light you describe on the birds themselves.. Thanks for sharing.

Echo what Brett says and the indifferent attitude of the two birds is great
