Taken in my garden weekend before last - the light was super, but the grass was in shadow unfortunately hence I had to lower the exposure and cranked up the iso to get the shutter speed up.
I had to take this from my 2nd floor study window as to try and get a lower perspective would have spooked the bird.
Camera: Canon EOS-1D Mark III
Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 700 mm
ISO Speed: 1000
Exposure Bias: -2/3 EV
(and I've cracked the image sizing - thanks to SJK !)

Great shot - especially from a second floor window!

That's superb. In retrospect I think the higher vantage point may well have worked in your favour. At ground level you might have not seen much more than his head and back above the grass.
I think this is very nice indeed.
The bird is wonderfully sharp and clear and the frosty setting is also very nice and helps to really make the bird stand out well.
