I found this yesterday and thought it was worth processing. It was shot when we still had some color and before I sold my beautiful Nikkor 17-35 2.8. I'm headed for the Canon 5d Mark II. Anyone need a D300 w/grip (MB-D10) with 10k shutter actuations? $1300.00 firm.

The heavy cool tones with a splash of warm fall color is nice Aaron. The extra cloud detail reflected in the water is nice too. This tower seems to be in the early stages of becoming a "leaning" tower of Lake Fayetteville. Thanks for sharing and have fun with that new Canon 5D Mark II.

Hey Aaron, nice fall shot, I really like the reflections and the moody water. You will like the 5D Mark II.

What Wayne said. Beautiful image, Aaron.
Did you happen to check into an adapter ring for Nikon glass on the 5D II? I'd be interested in some first hand information if anyone has any...

That remains a sad fact - Canon does not have any good wide glass, and the higher the res, the worse their glass is. The new Zeiss 21mm for Canon will help out a lot, but otherwise the Nikkor 14-24 is a very special lens indeed and has been used with the 1Ds2 with great results. I believe there is a good adapter available (documented on LL and Miranda) but the supply is short. I've used a lot of the other adapters with Canons previously but with mixed results (the Canon mount lends itself well to adapter use, but for really wide glass it is critical that the adapter be of a certain width). Of course, the best combo is the 14-24 and d3x...

I'd really like to own a 14-24, in fact, I almost went for one instead of the 24-70, but what do you do for a polarizer? (All this in trying to prepare for a D3x...would be overkill with a D2x)

I have a $500 potential option for this - I made it up to use with the 28mm wide on my Phase One system - same type of lens with the attached scalloped hood. I have been too lazy to try it out on the Nikkor as I need to make up a new attachment ring to fit the larger lens, but will give it a go in another week or two when the x arrives.

I'm definitely going to stay Nikkor for the wide side with the Mark II. The old 28mm 2.8 AIS MF lens may be a cheap and decent solution for a while. Canon also has a new 24mm 1.4 and a 35 1.4 that seems to have good reviews. I've got a cheap Nikon to Canon adapter and I'm going to keep some old Nikkor primes (35 f.2, 50 1.4, 85 f2 ) to get me started.
The new D3X is nothing to rave about considering the price, but definitely the best Nikon camera yet (not on noise though).
