I decided to hit up CCSP this past Saturday for a few sunrise shots, mostly trying to concentrate on long exposures....thought that I would share one of em with ya all. Captured on my 5D (Minolta) about 32 seconds...you can find a larger version here http://jdebordphoto.zenfolio.com/img/v4/p255451498.jpg

Nice comp and colorful sunrise. My only suggestion would be to warm up the color balance on the snow slightly, looks a little blue likely due to being in shadow.

I think the blue color in the snow is absolutely appropriate, but I wouldn't mind seeing it just a bit darker. That said, this shot is mindblowingly awesome!

I agree with Todd. The intensity of color is excellent in this shot.

Brilliant! The tree silhouettes adds a lot to this.

Can you explain more about the 32sec exposure? It seems very long for this scene. Were you using an ND filter?

I love the warm tones contrasted with the cool tones. As Jack says, the trees makes the image. Without them, it's just another pretty sunrise shot. The strong diagonal of the shoreline also helps, in my mind.

I also like the ducks(?) in the water. Surprising they stayed still enough not to be just a blur for that long an exposure...

Agree with Jack on the 32 second exposure--seems quite long for the scene. But the end result is what counts and that's probably the best shot of CCSP I've ever seen!!

Sure dont look like 32 seconds, but it is one sweet shot!
