Misty Stonechat
Canon EOS 1Ds MKII, 600mm f4 IS, f8, 1/100, ISO 320, Bean bag on car window ledge. Cropped to portrait.

Hi All,

A recent session with the Stonechat's, this particular morning the mist was still pretty thick and the sun was just lifting the light levels, although it was still pretty gloomy, I do however like the effect this kind of light gives. That's not a bad clone job running from the bottom of the bird but a OoF stem  to be honest would clone that out for printing.

All comments welcome

Regards

Rob

Hi Rob,

With the thing in the background 'removed' I think you'de be left with a very nice shot.

Nice shot Rob. The bird is a little too far left for me but no big deal.
OOF stem doesn't bother me.

Very nice Rob. Love the colour palette.. OOF stem fine with me but I too would remove it for a print.

Great photo

I quite like the stem, maybe I am a bit strange.

a lovely detailed shot, minor nits already mentioned. I'm forever in hope that I'll stumble across some of these birds in my area, although it hasn't happened yet!

Lovely shot, Rob, with gorgeous feather detail. A little too large in the frame for my taste, but that is a personal thing.

A beautifully detailed shot Rob and as it is a full portrait I don't mind the size of the bird in the frame. If this is a vertical crop I reckon it would work just as well with a landscape format, which would also give a little more space to the left of the bird.

Hi Rob,

What a beautiful shot. Nice composition and wonderful feather detail. Although I think you should remove the OOF stern (but that's personal of course).

Beautiful Rob. Another fan of misty mornings. The OOF stem is no bother at all for me, for a print sale I would probably remove it.
