I spent a few days at Bosque last week, and had some great conditions for sunrise (lots of clouds in the East) and flight photography (easterly winds). More of my pics are here, sunrise ones at the beginning and sunset ones at the end: Bosque

Very nice Paul. I like the Snow Geese in Bosque-6 best. Fabulous blues!

A beautiful set of photos. I really like the image shown here and #19.

Lots of great stuff, but you posted the winner right here!

A really nice collection. I agree with Todd in that you posted the best of the bunch. I had planned to be there over the last four days, but decided to bail due due to all the nasty winter weather.

Thanks, everyone, much appreciated. Guy, sorry you could not make it, I hear some of the best times to visit are the 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, when the bird populations are very very large, and the corn is cut close to the road so flight shots are easier. And for us, driving is usually a lot easier (it's 600 miles to Socorro from my house in Ft Collins)
Very nice work, Paul. The sandhill landing shot is truly special. I would suggest that you name these images by species, even if it is "Sandhill Cranes In Flight #2" or something like that. Not everyone knows a snow goose from a crane and sandhills are both iconic and imperiled. Great collection.

Nice collection Paul. I agree the pic posted is the most intriguing. What days were you there? I just got back on Monday. I was there the 12th thru the morning of the 15th. At about 11am on the 15th, fierce wind gusts and blowing dust caused unpleasant photo conditions so I left at noon and spent that afternoon shooting around Santa Fe. Likewise we had similar gusting winds on the 13th so I went up to the VLA for late afternoon and nighttime shots. I aslo tried for the full moon on the evening of the 12th in White Sands, but the clouds kept the moon hidden until almost 7:15PM, much too high and bright by then. We had great sunrise light on the 12th and good light on the 14th.

Great stuff! I shot the cranes and geese there last November and was overwhelmed with the photo ops there. You did well capturing the sights!

Thanks again, everyone Dave S - great suggestion, I will do that when I get some time this weekend. Don, I was there Dec 5-8th, sounds like you had some tough weather, bummer about the full moon (want to get crane shots against the full moon next year).
