It is not a Nikon product- does not have Nikon MC-36 across the top, the two side buttons should have text above them, and the centre button should say 'set' on it.
Having said that, they probably reverse engineered the signals an MC-36 sends, which shouldn't be too complex, so should be fine with the cameras they list. It may not work 100% guaranteed with future models that support will the MC-36, in a similar way that 2rd party lenses with reverse engineered 'chips' in them occasionally need to be updated for new bodies.

Mark - did you know the MC36 release function works without batteries. I have one permanently stuck to my D2X, and I never put batteries in it.
Wonder if these ebay items work the same...??

As a matter of interest I got the cheaper basic remote leads for about 8 quid and have taken one to bits, and built quite a good long remote using telephone cables. These can be joined to create various lengths obviously. It works very well at 40 yards which is the farthest I've gone so far. I know its not exactly what you wanted but it might give you some ideas for a manually controlled remote.

Mark,
I bought a Phottix Cleon wireless remote for my D300 for £22 from ebay. I did have to replace the supplied battery to get the remote to work but I had already emailed Hong Kong Supplies and they immediately offered to replace it if needed. Even without the remote transmitter the slave unit can be used as a wired remote but only has a short lead. Considering the cost of the Nikon version I'm pleased with my purchase. Hope this helps Cliff
