One more shot from Mowich Lake. Thanks for looking.

Joe, I think I liked the previous image more, probably because there's so much foreground forest floor here and it seems a bit too messy to me. I'd like to hear your take on why you chose to shoot this image at f2.8 and iso800?

I think there's another image sitting inside the one you already have. You and/or others may not agree, but for me a very interesting composition results if you crop from bottom up to and including the horizontal down log at extreme right. The pano aspect image that you come out with still exhibits the variety of tree trunks, the great light through the mist, and is balanced by the barkless trunks on the left and right.

Thanks for commenting Geoff. To be perfectly honest, my camera was set on auto. My son was getting a little impatient, so I was a bit hasty in capturing this series of shots. My little Fuji F30 performs very well for a point and shoot at higher ISO's, that's why I got it. In retrospect, I should have gotten an SLR instead, but I didn't think I would want to take photography to a higher level at the time. Hopefully this coming year I can squeeze one into my budget, as I am severely limited creatively as it stands.
As for your suggestion, I found it intriguing. Is this close?
Regards, Joe

Joe, the first post was the stronger. This shot lacks the atmosphere and light qualities of that image. Cutting of the FG simply gives you a bunch of trunks.

Joe, like I said, you and others may differ, but I like the second post better. To me it still provides the atmosphere and injects an element of the abstract. Thanks for posting the second image.

I'm with you Marc, I prefer the first post as well. I liked the diagonal orientation from right to left. Geoff, I'm glad you like the second post. I guess maybe you can please all of the people some of the time!

I'll have to go with Geoffs suggestions. The groun is a little messy. I would also like to see a little more fog. I realize it's out of your control but I think it would have been nice.

A little more fog filtering through would have been nice. Maybe I'll bring a bag of dry ice with me next time!
