Nutty
Hi to all,

One from my Nuthatch set up, I had a lovely branch covered in Sow's Ear fungus all ready set up but the nutty's weren't playing ball, thanks for looking.

Converted in DPP / Prcessed in CS2 ( Cropped and a small piece of branch cloned from the bottom left )

1D3, 500F4IS, Gitzo1325, Wimberley v2
1/250th @ F5.6 -2/3rds E/comp iso800

ps

Just noticed after posting that the Nutty is a little large in the frame and the BG noise is still evident, I think a little more pp work is needed, what do you think?

All comments welcome

Looks OK to me for this site Andrew.
A tiny bit over to the left would help maybe but nice as is.
Cheers

I like the matching colours of the bird and the perch and the way the foot just appears over the stump. Very nice :toast:

One of the most appealing 'upright' nutty shots I've seen Andrew - nice :toast:

The size of the Nuthatch in the frame looks fine to me and if there is any noise in the background I don't find it obvious or that it spoils the image.
I love the upright pose and very much like the perch too.
A very nice image and good to have this slightly less conventional pose in your collection.

love the pose on this one, differs refreshingly from the regular pics posted of Nuttys. Nice and sharp, size is not a distraction. As mentioned a touch to the left would improve comp a little, but not a real drama.

cheers

I'm always looking for something 'different' when I observe or take photos.. This is a very different 'Nutty' picture and to that extent works really very well. Well isolated from the BG and the very subtle amount of noise really is not distracting at all. I like the pose and clarity of detail on both bird and stump. Nice one..!

Nice to see one of my favourite birds in a more unusual pose.

Cracking Andy, like this as is - not too big or noisy. The branch is an attractive perch and the pose very different - makes you wonder what its looking at out of frame
