1D2n, 600mm f4 is x1.4, 1/400s, f6.3, iso 640.
No new stuff, so here's an old friend from a couple of months ago that I have just found.

Hi Ian
The old stuff is often better !
Lovely shot this. (Reminds me of when I worked these birds at the nest in the old days in B&W.)
I love square crops (always have ) and the grass tops in the foreground are just the icing. .
One of your best in my humble opinion.
Cheers
John
Ps Try dropping the gamma a hell of a lot and look at the dramatic effect !!

Amazing shot, best SEO photo I have seen, love the square format and that the background is nicely out of focus with some leaves in focus, really makes the image.

I have to agree with Liam there.. this really is the best SEO shot I've seen as well.. I too love the subtle detail of the grass in the bottom of the frame as it illustrates very nicely the quartering behaviour associated with such a great bird.. Simply superb composition and execution throughout the frame.

An outstanding image with the grasses at the bottom of the frame being the icing on the cake.

An absolute belter Ian, the expression on its face, the light coming through the wings and the tops of the grass in the foreground all combine to make this a superb shot

This is a wonderful and very well composed shot. The grass in the foreground in combination with the blurry background is just great. Very well done
Just about perfect, amazing what a bit of long grass can add to a great photo
