What photo gear is on your Christmas wish-list?

This is the first year in a long time that I haven't had any photo-related items on my Xmas list. I had been hoping that Santa would help with a D3X and 14-24mm, but, for worse or better, Nikon really scrooged things up with a ridiculous list price.

I sold all of my LF gear earlier in the year, along with all of the accessories and extra camera bag. Got rid of extra tripods, heads and more. It's really been a year of off-loading gear instead of collecting more. Kinda feels good. Weird, but good!

So, what photo gear is on your list this year?

I'm exactly in the same place as you Rick concerning the D3x, just too expensive. I've been saving money for a while too, sold my D100 this year and will be selling my LF gear soon for a new digital setup. The Nikon 14-24mm is also on my list along with the 24-70mm and perhaps the Canon 5D II with an adapter for the lenses in the upcoming months.

Well, since this is a "wish" list... My list would include a 5D MKII and the sharpest wide angle (maybe a Zeiss) I could find. Then a new computer to handle the massive files. And a carbon fiber tripod.

While I'd like to put the 5D Mark II on my Xmas list, it would only make my wife laugh hysterically. The only thing I put on there photography-related was Singh-Ray's new Vari-N-Duo filter that now incorporates a CPL with their variable ND filter. Once again, my wife looked at the price ($390 right now) and uttered something about it being ridiculous for a filter.......sigh!!

Maybe I'll add PS CS4 to the list and see where that goes!

I do have a few things on my list this year:

5D MarkII
Feisol Tripod w/Markins head
Canon G10

But what I really need is more TIME to dedicate to photography. Can Santa bring me more time? I mean, obviously the guy can bend space and time--how else could he get to all those houses in one night??

Drum scanner, Fuji 400/8T, a 270mm or 300mm compact lens and an LX3.

5D MKII & a B&W 3.0 (10 stop) ND filter - so if anyone here wants to get me this, write me and I'll give you my shipping address .

I'll join the 5d2 crew as well and a wide angle to replace my 10-22mm. Oh, and a means to earn my living with photography rather than my desk job.

Add in here with just the Nikon 14-24/2.8 for now. Would add another D700 to the list but it is a down year for Santa.

Ok... I'll play since it is just wishin' with no chance of a snowball in h-e double hockey sticks of it happeing; Canon 600mm with Wimberly and a carbon fiber tripod to hold it all steady plus everthing mentioned by others above. Oh and a new bigger faster computer with a Drobo to back it up and keep the data safe and... well ya get the idea... :jump: :jump: :jump:

I bought the Pentax K10D last year and am hoping to get a macro lense this Christmas.

I am hoping Santa brings me a D300, I would ask for a D700 but then I would have to get some new lenses too my Santa isn't that nice.

I don't trust anyone, even Santa, to get me photography equipment. So, I usually try to get some B&H gift cards instead. This year, I have a B&H gift card (just showed up a couple days ago) and a Visa gift card on the way, which, with some of my own money is going to finally get me a backpacking tripod. Planning to pick up a Velbon 540A and a RRS ballhead. Unfortunately, the 540A is backordered at B&H right now. I'm just really tired of hauling my Bogen 3021PRO all over the place.

A smokin' hot mistress who owns a 5D Mk-II that she'll let me use whenever I want. (That video function might come in handy!)

I've got my eye on the Sony A900, but I don't think Santa's going to spring for it quite yet. (Santa being that compulsive camera-buying voice in my head).

If anybody is feeling generous, I'd love a Chamonix 045n-1 in Canadian maple and black metal with the universal bellows.

Oh, and if it wouldn't be too much trouble, a Schneider Apo-Tele-Xenar Compact 11/350 to go with it. I've been really good this year. No, really.

Cheers,

Only one thing on my photography wish list => TIME!

Christmas Wish List-

Canon 5D (yes just the first version) and a smack sharp 24-105L
Colossal clearing storm in Yosemite
3 week trip to the superlative Banff and Jasper National Parks
A trip to see the backside of the Bells

On the wish list, I'll join up with CAZ... I want more TIME!

The rest of the stuff isn't even on my wish list this year, but if Santa's reading: a good CF tripod, Epson 7900, D700, and the Nikkor 14-24mm lens to fit it would be great, thanks.

I'd settle for a 300mm f2.8 VR lens. Or a 200mm f2.8 or both!

I got a warm coat!

Put me on the 5D2 list. Won't happen, but I can always dream.

Merry Christmas

Hmmm. Tough one. I got new equipment this year by losing 75 pounds. Trips to Europe and Asia would be nice with a few decent photo trips in the USA scattered alongside would make the pefect gift. A porter to carry my 4x5 gear would be nice too.

A carbon fiber road bike to do the California Aids ride is definitely in my future! Thanks Santa!
