For those Canon owners out there, here's a link to an article out today talking about and showing some examples of the "black dot" issue being investigated on the new 5D Mark II.

Canon has been having serious QC issues for the past few years. They have become so secretive about new products and their announcements that they are not allowing enough time for the beta cycles to be completed.
Their handling of the focus problems on the 1D series pushed me to Nikon for my 35mm equipment. Not to mention the high ISO on the D3 is way ahead of the curve.

Wayne, thanks for the link. I will let you know if I notice this on any of my shots. I hope to take a few nights shots during the holidays. It sounds like Canon will have a fix out soon! It should not be a problem for 99% of shots taken until they get it fixed with a new firmware download.
This is not unlike computer software and hardware in the early releases.

Yes, Canon should have a fix soon... They BETTER!!! I'm going to do some high ISO comparison shots with the D700 and 5d Mkii using the same exact lens (with an adapter) once I get my 5D. I think the 5D Mkii may win (at least on sharpness) after resized to the D700 pixel count.
