I would appreciate feedback on this image. Is it too blue? Too much negative space on the top right?
I made it last summer at Cannon Beach. I originally overlooked it and then it sat on my computer until I recently re-found it. I used a Canon 20d, 100mm f2.8 macro.
I like it, Jesse. Recently I have found myself looking for these types of shots that feature the interaction of people with nature. Surfers and beachcombers are my favorites for this style. For someone who didn't know better, this image portrays the solitary person against a remote and harsh environment. This of course isn't the truth with the condos, motels, and tourist traps that line the Cannon Beach area. But with a little imagination, this could be as remote and rugged as anyplace along the coast.
Next time don't let good shots sit around for so long. And yeah, you might crop some off of the top. Maybe pano, or semi-pano?

I really like this shot alot. I agree with Jesse, this shot does portray the man against nature motif. I personally like the added space on the top right, to me it shows just how minute we are against nature. I like the balance to it. Hope you find more treasures in your archives

Excellent capture, Jesse. It's not too blue at all, especially with the surfboard being bluer than the sky. Cropping? I wouldn't touch it - the big sky imparts a sense of remoteness.

Not to blue for me either. Nice atmosphere.

Not to blue and the top empty space it's fine to give the viewer open space sense. Finaly I love the man and Nature feeling of this shot, congratulations
