Immature Bald Eagle cooling its butt.
One of many taken from vehicle used as hide. Any attempt to get out of the car would result in a spooked subject. Location Quivera Kansas
Canon 1D3 Canon 800mm Hand held 1/4000sec ISO-400 f/5.6 @ 800mm
RAW to lightroom then CS4 resized and converted to Jpeg.
Critique and Advice comment most welcome also any questions fire away.

I hope you don't mind Barry but I've had a go at this one in Photoshop, it's a great image that just needed a bit of post processing to improve it. I've adjusted levels, lifted the shadows slightly, sharpened it and added some canvas on the right. I've done it very quickly so a much better job could potentially be done.

No problem at all I tend to overcook the adjustments and finish up with a halo just too heavy handed. What a difference you have made. I'm still not convinced I have my monitor set up correctly. I must admit I get a buzz from tracking and finding the subjects.

Great to see the whole bird Barry
What a great time you had with this Eagle. The low level shooting makes it for me, a great opportunity well captured.
I do like Matts version showing the skills when using photoshot, some people have that skill, some don't. makes me jealous in away lol. Just shows how a great image can digitally improved.
All the best
