another female cardinal
Not sure what kind of bush she is sitting in but they like to feed on the little white seeds.

shot with canon 40d and tamron 200-500 all the way out at 500

You must have taken this before or you missed the ice this week. Makes me want to go chase cardinal shots. Like you I wish the head was a little sharper but like the way the red branch behind her follows the curve or her head & back

ok now the truth,,, there was a 1/2 inch stick up across the wing blocking out also the beak and the middle of the head, this is my first attempt at fixing a photo using photo shop cs3

Looks like a pretty good fix.

Looks like a good fix, Wally. I do notice immediately behind her beak doesn't quite match the rest, as it isn't as smooth. Nice surroundings for the Cardinal.

I love the setting here. The colors go with the birds colors perfectly. A little more light on the bird would really make this pop. Nice find!

The palette of colors in the background really compliments the cardinal. Very well seen (and fixed).

Love the colors on this one. The background works well with the Cardinal.

I really like how the colors in the background match those of the cardinal.

Nice shot, the bush appears to be a rough leaf dogwood, or maybe a silky dogwood.
