Dawn Roar
Have to say that the quality of images posted on UKNP continues to amaze. Just going over some files from the Autumn having seen a few here. Had a few very lucky days around the deer parks where that stunning combination of a roaring stag, dawn sunlight, and low mist all came together. Was very specific in my shooting this season. As soon as that light had vanished, I packed up and left. Probably missed out on a few opportunities, but this way, all the behaviour I captured looked like this.

Canon EOS 1Ds mkII, EF600mm f/4 IS L, Gitzo tripod, black widow gimbal head, 1640th @ f/6.3, minor curve alteration, shot at 4600K and increased to 4800K, no colour work.

What a wonderful scene! I'd be tempted to crop a little from the right, but of course that's personal preference.

Nice shot Elliot! Difficult to fault, comp works well for me as it is.

Love the overall tone, and what a nice rack!

Absolutely love this one Elliot - I thought Guy Edwardes had some nice deer shots, but this is my favorite shot of this type I have seen this year. The tone and composition are spot on!

Just spot on - one of the best of the 'atmospheric' deer shots I have seen. :toast:

Stunning Elliott, amazing light and I like how you have retained detail in the deer
