I liked the winter bridge image Toni posted so I thought I woud see if we started another theme a-la like we did with barns a few weeks ago.
Here is one from last winter. This is one of the seven bridges in the Van Loon Wildlife area just outside Trempealeau, Wisconsin on a snowy afternoon. Van Loon is a nice piece of river bottomland where the Black River meets the Mississippi Valley. The river breaks into several streams that spread across a bottom that is about a mile wide. There are seven old truss bridges like this on the old roadbed. It is foot traffic now since the new road went in farther south. Great place to walk in any season.
If you live in or are near the La Crosse area, it is well worth the visit.

Nice one, Darren. You're right...bridges would make a good theme!

I agree on both counts. Nice post and a good idea for a theme. I like the framing here a lot. The bridge takes you right into this lovely winter scene. A little more light from the weather gods would've been a nice addition, but you did very well with the light you had.

Nice composition, Darren. It pulls me right in. Love those old truss bridges.
