An Almost Approachable Antelope
This is my best Pronghorn to date; most of them are terribly shy, even with car "blinds".

D2X with 80-400VR lens, cropped for 8x10 format.

And a not-as-good shot of the whole animal. Crisp, but doesn't catch the light in the eye...

Any closer and you'd have to start using extension tubes!
Nice catch. Where did you find these guys?

I got my first pronghorn shots at GSDNP last month, but they kept a respectable distance.

Bill, this was one of a pair cropping the brush along the road out to Goblin Valley. The only other place I've gotten almost this close was along the roads out in the Canyonlands Recreation Area.

Nice detail pronghorn shot, Les & I love that sage habitat. I would suggest zooming out just a bit to include some shoulder and avoid the head mount look.

Very good portrait, and just add the catchlight in the eye on the second one.
