Its all too cold so how about a little summer reminiscing? This one is from one of the few backpacking trips I got in this past year into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. I've been to this valley twice now (once in the fall, once in the early summer) and when there is adequate water coming off of the ephemeral glaciers above, it looks like a slice right out of Switzerland (though I'm sure in Switzerland the mozzies aren't nearly as bad as they were here).

The clouds are the tail end of a typical Marine Inversion that butts up against the Cascades. As the air moves over the Cascade Crest, it dries out and the clouds disappear entirely. The morning light on the scene was superb.

Color balance is a bit too magenta, but I like the composition.

I like the comp, and its a nice scene, but the top seems a little dark to me. The sky and mountains are actually darker than their reflection, which seems unnatural. That should be easily fixed though.

Trevor - White Balance is right out of the camera. This is the shot I got when you dunked your polarizer. Nostalgia fail.

I like it Bryan. The strong diagonal is nice. I would _really_ like it if the grass on this side of the reflection was more filled with flowers, but what'cha gonna do?

White Balance is right out of the camera.
Well that proves it  . (The color balance actually looks fine on this monitor.)
