Just got my images back from processing after my trip to Joshua Tree National Park last Sunday. The outing did go well for photography, but Sunday out there can be fairly crowded. With people taking time off for the Holidays this was no exception. This scene was captured pretty much in the heart of the park at sunrise with a westward look. Thank you in advance for your comments.

Thanks Jeffrey. Ya, I need to tweak that a bit. I just did not want to get it too warm overall.

Paul,
This is great to see the desert covered in snow. I especially love the sky and the snow covered peaks in the background. The snow isn't overly blue to me - in fact, more of a purpley-blue hue that I would expect from Velvia. I like the comp and the placement of the Joshua tree. I wish the very bottom of the image was a little cleaner, but I can't see how you could have done anything about it.
Excellent JT image Paul. Glad you were able to make it out there.

Paul,
Nice to see more Winter images with all this snow fall. I really like the composition and morning color along the mtns.
The blue snow doesn't bother me too much as it is early AM. I am not quite sure about the big white to aqua sky above the mtns though. It looks like the sky got a bit blown there. Maybe it can be repaired in PS or using push/pull film techniques. Other than that it is a nice image overall.

Oy!! you are killing me.. I was driving out to Phoenix on Sunday and could not decided if I should drop into JT or not that day.. Had plenty of time though... I ended up not stopping and just driving past..
Thanks everyone for all your help & suggestions as always. I really did not do a complete job here on the post processing, or as well as I thought I had. Anyway, you get an idea of how things were out there last week. I'll plan to rework this one as soon as I get some more time. Take care!

Paul, I can feel the cold air from my computer screen! How surreal was that view there that day wow!
I think you captured the scene well. My only thought is that I wish there would have been a few more clouds in the background to really give it a bit more sense of the true weather. But I'm sure you had no say with mother nature in that regard

Paul, you know how hard it is for me to look at this scene , but I'm glad you were able to get back out there and get some images. I love the deep colors of the Earth's shadow captured here... especially against those snow-capped hills in the distance. If you can control some of the banding/splotching seen in the brighter areas of the sky in the rework that would be nice. Other than that, this looks good to me.

The snow is a bit blue, and I think it should be white. I know it's a light temp/film thing, but you can fix it.
