Patterns in the snow
For some reason (cabin fever I guess) I ventured out in my SUV into the rural roads in the nearby valley between here and Bald Peak. There was about 14" of snow. However I used my 4 wheel &traction tires and Midwest driving techniques to look for some images. It was awful pretty but quite difficult to get around since none of the roads were plowed at all.

Many times I will post images that I am not at all sure about. This is one such image; this image was not overly adjusted in LR & PS other than normal adjustments and believe it or not, not even sharpened as much as you may think. The ice storm prior to the second bout of the snow gave the trees a really strange look.

I'd like your feedback on this one. Sometimes I like it--& sometimes it just looks to busy and somewhat unnatural. However looking like that may have its place as well.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Great patterns and a little high key. I like it.

This doesn't do a lot for me, Jack. I guess I would prefer more sharpness; it doesn't bother so much in the branches, but looking at the trunks it's an issue.
I must say, however, that I'm intrigued by the identity of the trees. They look like Birch to me, but why Birch in rows unless they're for the retail nursery trade?

100% correct Marc! The trunks all had a lot of freezing rain, ice & snow on them. I agree they look weird. I just find this to be a weird shot and though I am trying to get "into it"i really can't.

Have a happy.

Interesting shot. I've dirven past several stands of trees like this and have always thought they might make an great shot. Inspires me to stop the next time.
