Yosemite Tomorrow (12/26)
I'll be there for 4 days, arriving mid-day Friday. I hope what dumped today is still pretty when I arrive. If you're heading in, look for my Sportsmobile, it's fairly distinctive.

This image is from Feb '08, and the only of two keepers from a glaring, sunny, useless weekend then. A little part of Yosemite Falls.

Hi Jeffrey,
I hope to be there tomorrow for the day, but am waiting to hear from my ride????????
Hope you have a Fantastic time ;-) our plan is to head out about 2AM
so we can be there before sunrise, then make images all day.

Lovely little bit of the YF....we should have good runoff with this snow
and a Friday with some sun..... Should be many little extra ones also.

Happy Holidays to ALL...........

in gratitude,
Nelcha ~ Sacramento

Oh Man!

I bet you are going to get some Great conditions with all the new snow on the ground. Your timing is much better this Winter. Are you staying in the park?

Just promise to post a conditions report when you get back for those of us who are chomping at the bit to get out there. I am really missing the CO Winter snow and ready for a trip to Yosemite - Gotta get rid of this cold first though.

Derek,

I've been visiting Yosemite for 36 years, and that Feb trip was my first and only winter visit. Since I've been photographing seriously for many years, and have the vehicle now, I've been jonesing for some snow to shoot. It's only 3 PM and I am completely packed, just waiting for the morning to come. Bring it on!

I have only been to Yosemite once in the Winter about 10 years ago and we got dumped on. It was definately the best trip I have ever taken there and the most photogenic. Winter is actually the best season for photography in the park. And if you get a storm or are there right afterwards it is magical! Pray for more snow. LOL...

Wunderground is showing 90% chance today with clearing tommorrow. So tommorrow as things start to clear should be the best day of your trip. You may want to leave early in the AM to get there closer to morning light with all that fresh snow. It will probably be THE opening day of the Winter for photographers in the park.
