I've been playing around with adding a bit of color to a b/w conversion. This is the result of said processing. What do you think - does it work?

I generally dont like tints or tones, but this is subtle enough that it looks good to me. That cloud layer is pretty cool! Id have to see the straight-up version to really judge if this is better though.

Like Stan, I'd like to see the color version to compare this to. I have a feeling I'd like the color better, because there just doesn't seem to be enough tonal separation in the b&w for me. Maybe you could remedy this if you fiddled with the grayscale mappings of the individual colors during the conversion process. A little more contrast might help too (especially in the midtones).

I love the image, but I am not too keen on the slight blue tone. I think a neutral tone may work better.

And the straight BW.

Ok, well...I actually prefer the straight B&W of the three! If you can get the nice texture you got in the first version in the snow (the snow is much brighter in the 3d) then i think the last version would be quite nice--just my take on it.
