I know this is not the best shot in my book, but, I was inside shooting family shots when we heard the geese in the corn field across the street take off. So -- what do you do ? You shoot what you got before they are all gone.

Merle: Glad you could turn aside for a few moments and capture this. It tells a great story and the sky is the perfect complement. Really well done. >=))>

Always wonderful to see the geese flying the winter skies. The dark sunset and colors are really nice in this Merle.

I appreciate the comments. Obviously this was a grab shot with the wrong lens, settings etc. But, flying geese won't hold in pattern while I change lenses. The colors were great and the con-trails almost made a checkerboard pattern.

The geese are certainly out and about around here today! I noticed them trying desperately to fly south yesterday into a gale force wind to find fields to feed in. Nice catch against a colorful sky. Happy New Year to you!

Just a real nice image, Merle. I noticed how the dark cloud patterns mirror the geese formation quite well. Beautiful color in the sky too...nice work!
