A reminder to those NPN members who like birds that the annual Christmas Bird Counts are under way across the continent right now. It's the oldest form of citizen science, a lot of fun, and happening near you.
To locate a nearby Christmas Bird Count near you, visit the Audubon site and use the search tool. If you don't have strong bird ID skills, they'll pair you with someone who does.
Thanks for the reminder, Jim, it's good to know that if you don't feel confident in knowing every bird (I definitely do not), they'll put you with someone who's more knowledgeable.
