Flatside Wilderness
Photo of Flatside Wilderness taken on Christmas day. I posted this in the NPN Galleries, so I'm not sure if it's allowed to also post in a regional forum... but I thought there might be some here that would appreciate seeing this beautiful place. I guess someone will let me know if this is an issue.

Here's a link to the bigger version.

Of course, any comments/critique/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Always great to see shots from on top of the Pinnacle John - one of the best views in this part of the country for sure!

Hi John, hey it's not a problem at all to post your shots here as well, the more the merrier, at least in my opinion. It's nice to see you joining in and being part of CSNP. It's great group of very talented folks.
Wonderful shot of what looks like a great place. I look forward to more.

Welcome, John! What a beautiful first post. I really like the light breaking into the valley, and the low angle of the light grazing the tops of the pines. One minor suggestion might be to crop the small twigs on the right. Thanks for sharing - looking forward to more!

Hi John. Welcome to CSNP. The large version is especially nice. I like how the pine trees stand out from the hardwoods. I look forward to seeing more posts from you.

John: I really like the depth of this shot and the scene in general. The large version is fantastic. >=))>

It's still hard for me to believe that sweeping vistas like this abound in Arkansas. I am so glad to have been introduced to the beautiful state of Arkansas and only wish I could spend more time there.

Wonderful shot John, welcome to CSNP! Looking forward to many more from you! :wavey:

Thanks for all the comments and the warm welcome! This site and forum are great resources and all feedback is appreciated.

Arkansas does have some beautiful places and sweeping vistas. As Tim said, the views from Flatside Pinnacle are some of the best in this area. This particular place is accessible via a spur trail off the Ouachita Trail. It's an easy hike that's only about 0.3 miles from a parking area.

Thanks again...
