Escaping with a fish
The other day i shot about 670 photos at the dam in downtown davenport iowa. Didnt keep many some i kept just because of what they were doing.
Here is one of those, hate the contrast in the background with the grey sky but i still had to shoot it...
These two were in a real battle for the fish some of the other photos i have are also battle shots but they look like a mass of feathers because of the mid air collision and i caught them at that point i will post one of those next.

Now on a serious note, the other day i responded by posting a reply in the forum hot topic,, responded to several different posts there.. For people that no me it is no surprise to them that i am a conservative, but in that forum when answering with a conservative view point i was sensored. received an email from there moderator that what i was saying had nothing to do with the topic so he removed my replys from all topics,,, one word i used was that in my opinion carl was misguided and was prospering from the capitalism that he appears to have a dislike for, they called that personal attack,,, that is nothing compared to what carl in his may conversations says,, including words such as stupid, weird and freaks, i quoted carl. moderator guy tal removed it.. not in a million years would i think less of a person because he doesnt agree with me, thank god we have that for checks and balances in society.. renewing my npn subscription will have to be thought about after all of that. For now i hope you enjoy the shots.

Great catch, Wally! (and, the eagles, too!)

I missed all of the "controversy," I guess...

Tim!

Wow I don't think I've ever taken 600+ images in a single day. Great capture. The only thing I would have wished for is a nice blue sky.

Wally, in regards to your comments about "sensorship" in the Hot Topics forums...

I would hope that you take the time to read our Posting Guidelines, and perhaps even my Staff Profile. One of the conerstones of this site is that we conduct all conversation in a respectful and congenial way. We are certainly allowed to disagree, but must always do so in a way that does not demean anyone.

Guy Tal, a long time member and moderator on this site who I have the utmost respect for, informed me of the deleted posts. I did not see the posts myself so I cannot comment on how I personally would have handled them, but I have full faith that Guy handled the situation in the best way he saw fit. Like all other moderators on this site, he has my 100% support - it's the only way possible to effectively administrate. If Guy or any other moderator gives me reason to doubt their judgement, then it's entirely up to me whether that person should remain a moderator.

Please keep in mind that some people who post strong opinions on this site are also quite contentious. In these cases, it's best to express your counter point-of-view objectively and with respect, but be able to recognize when the debate should end. In some cases, you may never have the last word so you may as well sum up your POV in a dispassionate manner and be done with it.

Keep your emotions in check, always be respectful and know when to walk away from a debate that's on the brink of becoming a pointless argument - this is especially true in the Hot Topics forum. We will continue to do our best to keep this site informative and enjoyable to all who participate.

Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Cool action capture, though it strikes me as a bit soft (due to cropping or lack of sharpening perhaps). I can't relate to taking 600 frames in a day, though I know it's not unusual with avian and wildlife photography. I typically shoot less shots than that over the course of an entire year with my 4x5! Having to pay $5 a shot quickly cures you of a twitchy shutter finger though.

As far as the controversial issues you mentioned, I can't really comment. I will say that I've never seen an instance where I disagreed with how the NPN moderators have handled such issues. Though I'm obviously not familiar with what happened. I also respect Guy a great deal, and I seriously doubt the intention was to silence you. Best of luck.

i will speak no more about the sensorship,,,, It is very easy to see with a single look at that forum what its all about...
