Work in progress this one but there's no shortage of birds!

Hi Peter,
I really like this, the purple sky is wonderful, and the sheer number of birds is breathtaking!

Well Peter for sheer number of birds in one frame you win but I think two or three are dust bunnies.
Doesn't really work for me but I bet it was a fantastic sight to see, you can get a simular effect by changing your lens at Donna Nook in the wind
Just kidding.

An amazing spectical but i would like to see a horizon or tree to give some scale

It's a great view to see so many birds at once. I've seen this before in Holland twice.
But I agree with Dave about the horizon, tree or something else.

I like this shot as it is but agree that a reference point for scale may improve it a little.
Have you counted them yet?

Impressive mass of birds! I hope you manage to get some of the great artistic swirls these create. If so please be sure to post them.
