Moonset along I-40
Had to take a potshot at this moonset last night heading home from SE Arkansas.

Ed, great shot, I saw a similar view tonight and hoped someone had captured it. You have caught the perfect winter sky. My only suggestion would be to clone out the lights bottom right and on the horizon. On second though, maybe those are wolf eyes.

Nice shot with the moon hanging right over the horizon, and I like the simple composition. The transition from blue to orange is sweet. Thanks for sharing.

Great shot Ed  I like the effect. I was wondering whether you can try the following alternative for a change next time.
1.Choose a day when the moon is a bit higher and with a little more day light. This will light up the landscape a bit more.
2. This will also allow you to crop some more of the top sky which is presently having no details.

Good luck and congrats again for choosing a great subject!

Ed a beautiful moonset image. The colors are great and very peaceful.

Glad you stopped to capture this. I noticed the alignment of these three heavenly bodies on a football telecast of all things (San Diego vs Denver). Love the winter sky color transition ... perhaps a crop to vertical for a different perspective. Thanks for sharing!

It looks like you captured what is left of the conjunction that took place earlier in the month when the crescent moon was aligned in a triangle with Venus (the brighter planet) and Jupiter. They have long since split and are going on their merry ways.

Best,
Don

Catching it 10 minutes earlier would have been ideal but I couldn't find a good spot along I-40 to pull over.

I feel your pain, Ed... :frown: I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds these scenes when there's only about two minutes to stop and get set-up. I'll be better prepared next month. This was from Sunday dusk too...

And then there's all that clutter in the sky to deal with too!

Ah, sky clutter, don't ya just hate that!
